today, we are going to talk about exercise addiction, and my journey with healing from exercise addiction.


exercise addiction is this compulsive relationship with exercise. it is often tied in with a disordered relationship with food, but it does not have to be. 


here is how you can see if you are addicted/ have an unhealthy relationship with exercise:

  • you HAVE to wake up early for a workout or stay up late. you can never take a day off, even you are sick, sore, or exhausted.

  •  you get nervous/angry/panicked when you are traveling or plans come up and interfere with your workouts

  • you are married to your smart watch

  • you are more focused on the calories a workout burns rather than how it makes you feel

  • you always walk fast, pace, stand or fidget to specifically burn calories.

  • exercise is not an addition to your life, exercise is your life.

  • you do exercises you hate because it gives you “more results”
