Episode 128 – Listening – An Art

In this podcast, we discuss an essential skill to the Ultimate Life. Since serving others is an essential ingredient in the Ultimate Life, we must learn to listen. What is listening? It is not just hearing the words someone says, even if you are able to remember them perfectly. I learned that the hard way. We not only listen to words, we listen to nuance, emotions expression, and feeling. We hear the unspoken. In addition to listening to someone, we learn to listen with them, as if we were on the same side of the table. We also learn to listen to pattens by listening for things in conversation. This deep effort can only be motivated by love. The foundation of good listening is love and a desire to serve.
