It’s a Cardinal kinda week, astrologically speaking. Cardinal, for those who don’t know already, is a “quality,” a way of expression – a style, so to speak. The term is derived from the start of a season, and so, its means initiation, beginnings, leadership, starting, generating. With five planets in Cardinal signs - Cancer, Capricorn and Aries – it’s the sorta week where you really wanna be at the helm, navigating your own ship and calling the shots. Oooh, it’s Eclipse Season! Are you ready? Well, now you are. With the Eclipses finally ensconced in the educationally-orientated signs of Gemini and Sagittarius, there’s definitely a sense that the world is getting more woke. It’s all about getting the balance just right between what we think we know and what we really know, deep down. Basically, we are re-educating ourselves. Whether that means through social media, online courses, or heading back to college to hone our skills, we are keen to get the ball rolling. The idea is to be able to keep both the details and the bigger picture in mind – and to not push our beliefs onto others. This Gemini Lunar Eclipse asks us to let go of those mental habits and to embrace the new. To involve ourselves in a more conscious circle. Perhaps also, to think about our relationship to travelling. This Eclipse encourages us to think more locally rather than having to throw ourselves far away from home to grow. We can grow right where we are, without moving too far. Sometimes, our own culture is right where we need to be to learn. These ideas of philosophy, mental expansion and travel are emphasized by Mercury entering adventurous Sagittarius! This is definitely a far more optimistic attitude than Mercury in intense Scorpio, and we are encouraged to expand, expand, expand! Life takes on a shiny, hopeful energy and we are pushed to communicate what’s true for us, sans filter. This could rub some people the wrong way so, going back to this Eclipse, we are asked to apply our rational minds to balance our passions and impulses. We can tell the truth, but we can make sure we also have our facts straight, right? Finally, when it comes to love, it’s dreamy. Venus, still in sultry Scorpio, trines Neptune and the effects are oh-so-sweet. This is the perfect week to fall in love, over and over again, to lose ourselves in a lovely fantasy and to initiate beautiful emotional bonds.
