Emergency department wait times have increased at the majority of the country's hospitals. Data revealed to Newstalk ZB shows ED wait times increased in 32 out of 37 Te Whatu Ora hospitals in 2022, compared to 2017. Royal New Zealand College of GPs Medical Director Dr Bryan Betty says staffing shortages is a major contributor. He says it's causing many GPs to become burnt out.
