June, 2000. A deliberately set fire engulfs the busy Childers Palace Backpackers Hostel in the rural Queensland town of Childers, Australia. 15 young backpackers were killed, and 69 survivors still bear the physical and mental scars of this act of brutality today. The murderer of the 15 young people has applied for parole in 2020, after serving only twenty years for the ultimate act of cruelty. This is the story of the Childer’s Backpacker Hostel fire.
