My Himalayan 100 Recap
Ultrarunnerpodcast.com - A podcast by Eric Schranz

Himalayan 100 – My First International Stage Race Report If you’ve been listening to the show for the past few months, you’ve heard me stressing out about preparing and packing for my first stage race – The Himalayan 100. Before I left, I recorded this interview with Russ Trice who attempted to set my mind at ease. (It didn’t work, I was still a mess up until race day.) In this interview, Sarah takes the lead and interviews me about the event. The logistics of travel, the race, Indian culture, and other participants involved in the event. In short, it was an incredible experience that I’ll always remember. We talk about what lessons I learned, the details of each day, what I wish I’d brought, what I’m thankful I had with me, and whether I’d do another event like this. Stay tuned for a full report with pictures, gear lists, and details from the Himalayan 100. I should have that up in few days and am writing it to those interested in this race in particular, as well as those who may want to dip their foot into stage racing in general. Himalayan 100 Report Episode Notes. Here’s the website for the race. Here’s the roller that was so popular at camp. Here’s a review of my high performance shorts. Here’s Cory Reese’s book: Nowhere Near First: Ultramarathon Adventures From The Back Of The Pack Here’s the book Grand Trail: A Magnificent Journey to the Heart of Ultrarunning and Racing that Sarah and I were talking about. Seriously beautiful coffee table book for the MUT geek in your life (or yourself.) Here’s the Grand Circle Trail Fest that Sarah attended. Looks like another cool event that I’ll consider for next year.
