Chris Mocko Interview Chris Mocko last joined us in May of this year to talk about his goal of becoming a sponsored athlete.  He’d strung together a great running resume, had a strong social media presence with The Mocko Show, and was ready to make his big splash at Western States Endurance Run as a newly-minted Nike Trail Elite athlete. That race didn’t go as planned. Sometime after Foresthill, it all unraveled and Chris had an epic bonk that threaten to derail his entire run.  After some tears and a pep talk by his pacer, he finished in a tad under 24 hours. So what was the status of his new sponsor? Could he still be an “influencer” with such a bad race on such a big stage? In this episode, we talk about: * The behind-the-scenes details of sponsorships, what he did right, and what he’d change about his approach. * My (and many in the MUT world) questioning of him signing with Nike and the real reason behind the relationship. * Where he’s been for the past few months after States. * What his strategy is for North Face Endurance Challenge next week. * His plans for racing in 2018.   Mocko Episode Notes Here’s our first interview with Chris Mocko. Outro music is by Matt Flaherty.
