But he’s not alone, his imaginary animated friends are there to take care of him. To cheer him up, Buster Beaver and friends show the tale of how bad Soldier Boy was to the members of Payback and why he was right to take out his former commander. While Mother's Milk was focused on his vendetta against the same supe, an insidious threat has taken over his family as his ex wife’s supe loving boyfriend is pushing his influence on MM’s young daughter. Believing Vought and Homelander’s lies he’s causing a rift in their family. Meanwhile Soldier Boy is on a mission with Hughie and Butcher to get another member of Payback “Mindstorm”. But when he’s confronted Mindstorm sends Billy into his worst nightmare, back to his abusive childhood. He has to watch on as his younger brother Lenny is driven to suicide. After Soldier Boy takes out Mindstorm he learns that Homelander is more closely related to him than he thought. He’s his offspring, his bouncing supe baby boy and he calls Homelander to share the good news.
