The Hebraic Book of Revelation – Part 2

Torah to the Tribes - A podcast by Matthew Nolan - Sundays

The Hebraic Book of Revelation – Part 2 These are real letters to real assemblies, but they’re also a preview to church history in its downward spiral toward Laodicean lukewarmness.  We are not only viewing the past, historical truth, but seeing present moving into the future with thrust of the main movement of history. Chapter 2: Nicholatian’s Synagogue of Satan Pergamum  Balaam Jezebel These things says He that holds the seven cochavim in His right hand, who walks in the midst of the seven golden menorot. 2 I know your mitzvoth, and your labor, and your endurance, and how you can’t bear those who are evil: and you have tried them who say they are shlichim,  and are not, and have found them to be liars: 3 And have borne, and have endurance, and for My Name’s sake have labored, and have not fainted. 4 Nevertheless I have something against you, because you have left your first ahava. 5 Remember therefore from where you are fallen, and make teshuvah, and do the first mitzvoth; or else I will come to you quickly, and will remove your menorah out of its place, unless you make teshuvah. But this you have, that you hate the wicked deeds of the Nikolations, which I also hate. He that has an ear, let him hear what the Ruach says to the Yisraelite congregations; To him that overcomes I will give to eat of the eytz chayim, which is in the midst of the Gan Ayden of tvkt. The breakdown: each oracle contains a challenge: “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the congregations.” Preface of the charge to write to the overseer/angel/messenger of the assembly. Identification of the visionary author, a past visionary prose.  Acknowledging the assemblies achievements (except Laodacia an Sardis).  Words of encouragement, council, condemnation or warning (only Smyrna and Philadelphia escape condemnation). A closing extortion to Shema and a promise to those who overcome.  Unto the angel of the congregation of Ephsisus write… Angel: not its guardian or ruling official (teaching overseer, bishop or pastor), but its prevailing spirit; the celestial counterpart to the earthly organism or the spiritualized personification of the assembly.  7 stars = the personifications of the prevailing spirit.  7 branched menorah = the assemblies themselves.  Yahusha walks amongst the menorah’s = He’s present in their midst and aware of their activities and trials.  Acts 19 informs us there was a SUPERNATURAL war going on in Ephesus and the believers were being overcome because they weren’t spirit filled. You have to be Spirit filled to face down the enemy: then you can make some headway and get past the fleshly realm of good old fashioned book burning and rioting!  Watch out today: there are many false apostles, the faith is full of… The Doctrine of the Niclolatian’s Every virtue carries within itself the seeds of its own destruction.  The desire these individuals had to be leaders and teachers was soulish to the core, so much so that it created a climate of jealousy and covetousness deep within them, a place where disease and corruption grew until it could no longer be contained… Gal. 3:3 are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh? Good works and pure doctrine will never be a substitute for character, calling and Kingdom vision.  Doctrine of the Nicolatians;  in Greek, from Nakao, to conquer and Laos, the people or laity.  Nicolaitianism was a form of Aramaism; The Aramaic word ניכולא (nichola) means “Let us eat!“.  ….the Greek word Νικολαΐτης (Nicolaitans) was formed from the Aramaic ניכולא nichola, combined with the Greek plural ending ‘tian’ ίτης. The root meaning of Nicolaitans, therefore, would be “let-us-eat-ers”. ..the etymological connection between “Nicolaitans” and “Let-us-eat-ers,”proves this was group of Gentile Christ-followers who were at odds with the decision of Jerusalem Council and the will of יהוה and Moses.   They set aside the teaching of the Mose
