The start of 2020 was so hopeful as we kicked off The International Year of the Nurse – a time to celebrate nurses and the vital role they play in the world. But though nurses looked forward to this year of appreciation, instead of pampering we faced increased challenges and it seemed like this year couldn’t be further from what we’d hoped for. But though the year wasn’t what we imagined, I believe it was the ultimate year of the nurse.
