Hello Friends and Family! It you can hang through our awkward intro about feline squirrel molestation, we deep dive into peacekeeping verses peacemaking. We identify the differences between the two and demonstrate how peacekeepers can inadvertently impede peacemaking.  Our new president has called our country to unite, but many people worry that the divide is too great. Seasoned peacemakers recognize that our country cannot just wait it out and hope that this one blows over...they understand that in order to establish peace with others and within themselves, they must honestly face the problem head on. This kind of real engagement is uncomfortable and often tense, but with boundaries in their back pockets, peacemakers build an environment to make peace possible, while speaking up for themselves and allowing others who desire to join the conversation to do the same. Although making peace through reconciliation is the goal, peacemakers do not quietly suffer disrespect, and that’s where the good ‘ol boundaries come in. The process can be slow, messy and uncomfortable, but with patience and trust in the process, some, not all of us can unify. By detaching with love from certain individuals, we empathetically alllow them the space to feel the consequences of their choices and behavior while not compromising on our core morals and values, our truth and justice. Not everyone will find their way, but some will. Tune in and we will lay it all out for you.
