Working for the Weakened (8/16/24)

TST Radio - A podcast by Ryan Gable

The 40 hour work week was introduced by Henry Ford because he noticed that having a set number of hours for workers slightly increased production. The method was then picked up by other companies and became global. Now people are upset about 40 hours of work each week, and want to abolish it. These are usually Democrats and socialists, many of which call themselves progressives, who are angry about work, and don’t understand that Ford was a progressive, too, but a Republican. There may be downsides to the 40 hour work week, but prior to the industrial revolution people were working 80 to 100 hours a week, for six days, including children. So which would you rather have?
