But not long into this discussion I realized that behind his "serrated edge," he also has a rich perspective on theology, morality, politics, culture, sovereignty, the decline of the United States, and more. Which is probably where memes really come from: a grasp of the issues that runs so deep, it can be expressed in a single image and just a few words. Viewed that way, memes really are magic.
