Ganna's journey of overcoming fear; hospital induction and birth to Alisa

The Positive Births NZ podcast - A podcast by Helen Bartrom

Ganna's journey to pregnancy was affected by tokophobia - a fear of pregnancy (and for some women, birth too).  Her birth also involved changing all her plans as she developed pre-eclampsia and needed to be induced. However, she shares how she navigated her way through the pregnancy and birth with the use of a variety of tools. I love how she used her mindfulness, and the affirmations – she tells us how she and her partner worked together with the affirmations. She talks about tapping into her cave woman self, tapping into the collective feminine energy and about the amazing midwives and support she had along the way. Ganna comes away from the birth experience with the advice to not let fear rule your decisions, (she also comments she'd be happy to have 10 more babies!). So, yes, despite all the curveballs she navigated, this is a positive birth story.
