Cindy's peaceful birthcare birth and fast hospital birth

The Positive Births NZ podcast - A podcast by Helen Bartrom

Categories:

Cindy was in Iraq when pregnant and felt she needed to birth in NZ so she could be in a hospital and have an epidural.  We chat about her ideas of birth, how she had never heard a positive birth story, and  how her mindset completely changed after arriving in NZ and stumbling upon hypnobirthing. After starting the course, she committed herself 100% to practising her relaxation techniques. She developed an unshakeable belief in herself in being able to birth naturally and calmly. The result was a very calm and peaceful labour – spent mostly in bed on her own (her husband was still in Iraq at this point in time), she got to Birthcare 9cm dilated and out came Zayn. Then, in her second pregnancy Cindy talks about her her pregnancy as a breeze and then an exceptionally fast one hour labour with Aiden.
