Ep 39 - Bubba Watson: Handling Life’s Ups and Downs

The Paula Faris 'Faith & Calling' Podcast - A podcast by AccessMore

Professional golfer and two-time Masters Champion, Bubba Watson, shot a 62 at 13-years-old and knew he had a future in the sport, by the time he was nearly 40, he saw 162 on the scale and thought he was dying. In this episode, Bubba gets emotional talking about his story and detailing his struggle with crippling fear, anxiety and stress, something he hasn't been willing to talk about until now, in his new book “Up & Down.“ Bubba shares what it was like opening up to his wife and those in his closest circle about his struggle, and why it is so important for others, especially men, to overcome the stigma associated with talking about their mental health. He credits his wife with many of his successes, both professionally and spiritually, and shares the conversation they had on their first date that set them on their adoption journey. He also reveals how he got his nickname "Bubba," the sport he would have rather played professionally, and addresses the rumor of never having taken a golf lesson.   Order Bubba's new book - "Up and Down: Victories and Struggles in the Course of Life" Order Paula’s Book - “Called Out: Why I Traded Two Dream Jobs for a Life of True Calling”  Now available in paperback, with a free 6-week discussion guide!
