#9 Life is a game - Who makes your rules?

The Mothering Myself Podcast - A podcast by Susan Kinahan

Let’s examine the game of life. Who creates our rules? When did we agree to them? Did we ever critically examine the way that we are living? How does the way that we live, and the systems that inform our way of doing things, create our own 'well-being'? Who do our ‘life rules’ benefit? This episode critically examines the world we each live in. We consider how we create our reality, and whose reality we might be living in. We ponder how we are teaching our children to develop and whether or not we are sharing practices that encourage self-empowerment and personal accountability for our children to feel responsible for themselves as they progress from childhood into adulthood. No one can save any one of us, we can only save ourselves. How can we create a reality that benefits our personal well-being? How can we critically examine our personal values and make life choices that serve our highest good, rather than following in another’s footsteps. How can we support ourselves without needing another to validate who we are and what we truly want? Plus we hear from Katie, 31 from Richmond, VA as she shares with us a letter to her younger self.
