Concerns remain around a lack of police station staff. Data released under the Official Information Act shows there's been a net increase of 1576 constabulary staff since 2017 - the 1800 officers promised is on track for June. There have also been staffing boosts in Auckland and Wellington stations, while other regions saw no change or even lost staff.
