Chris Hipkins: PM says Marama Davidson gets a little bit of leeway over comments as she'd just been hit by a motorbike

The Mike Hosking Breakfast - A podcast by Newstalk ZB - Wednesdays

The Prime Minister says Marama Davidson's comments at the Auckland counter-protest for Posie Parker are regrettable. The Minister for the Prevention of Family and Sexual Violence said most violence is caused by white cis men, cis meaning the gender a person's born with. She's now clarified, removing white and cis, saying when she spoke, she was in shock after being hit by a motorbike. Chris Hipkins told Mike Hosking he accepts her clarification. "I think she gets a little bit of leeway for the fact that she'd just been hit by a motorbike, clearly I think the adrenaline was probably pumping at that point and you probably detected that in the tone of her comments, but they were wrong."
