Bryan Betty: College of GPs Medical Director calls for GPs to prescribe ADHD medication

Growing calls to allow GPs to prescribe ADHD medication. Currently the drugs can only be given following an appointment with a psychiatrist or paediatrician. That causes issues due to a lack of access to psychiatrists across the country and seeing them sometimes costing hundreds of dollars. Royal College of GPs Medical Director Bryan Betty told Mike Hosking the current situation isn't good enough. He says there's just not enough access to psychiatrists so the rules need to change.
