Bob Collins: Toy Collecting Expert on the original Star Wars X-Fighter model that sold for $5.3 million

A long-lost prop from the original 1977 Star Wars film was auctioned off for a record-breaking $5.3 million.  The 50cm X-Wing Starfighter model was considered missing for decades, before being found in a cardboard box in the garage of an Oscar nominated model maker.  Toy Collecting Expert, Bob Collins, told Mike Hosking that it’s likely that the model maker wouldn’t have a clue that it was going to be worth so much.  He said that collectables become desirable due to the nostalgia factor, as people want to recapture their memories.   LISTEN ABOVE See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
