24: The Legacy

Today we mourn the passing of one the NBA's all-time greats, Kobe Bean Bryant. This real-time episode catches us all at a vulnerable time when we're learning how to cope with this news. Bryant was killed in a helicopter crash on the way to his daughter's basketball game. That daughter, Gianna (Gigi) also perished at 13 years old. While we laud him for his accolades on the court (5-time NBA champion, 2 gold medals, Finals MVP's, #4 on NBA's scoring list, etc), we focus on what he loved more than anything- his family. The night before, Bryant saluted Lebron James who passed him for #3 on the scoring list. And then, he went about working with his daughter on her game. She was the heir to his throne.
