She turns the key in the berth lock, and the berth pops open, with Roger sprawled across the bed. “Hello there!” says Eve.“Hello,” replies Roger, looking as his now-broken pair of sunglasses. “Tell me: why are you so good to me?” he says.“Shall I climb up and tell you why?” replies Eve. The scene fades to the 20th Century Limited plying its way along the Hudson River as the sun sets.
