How do you go from building apps for refugees to avoid snipers to building a digital agency designing and commercialising healthtech products? This week, James is joined by Lee Omar, founder and CEO of Red Ninja Studios, a Liverpool-based, design-led technology company making products that impactĀ people and patients.Ā Before working in technology, Lee worked in Human Rights sector. He ran a diverse range of businesses ranging from a Sony Award winning radio show, importing vegetables, exporting cream and organising over a thousand concerts, nightclub events and festivals. Lee has been involved inĀ smart city design and heā€™sĀ particularly interested in the intersection where our online world meets the 'realā€™ world. He works with the Chief Scientific Advisor to the UK Government as part of Government Office for Science Future Cities Foresight Project advising government on what cities will look like in 2065 and 2040 to enable policy change now to achieve growth for UK Economy. He's been a member of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Smart Cities since 2014 and is a founding member of The All-Party Parliamentary Group on Artificial Intelligence (APPG AI) which was set up in January 2017 with the aim to explore the impact and implications of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
