Happy Hour #311: Sophie Hudson

The Happy Hour with Jamie Ivey - A podcast by Ivey Media Podcasts

My guest for The Happy Hour #311 is Sophie Hudson. Sophie has been a long time guest on the podcast and we are so happy to have her back for the fourth time! She currently lives in Birmingham, Alabama with her husband and son. Sophie is the co-host of The Big Boo Cast and author of five books, including her most recent release Stand All The Way Up: Stories of Staying In It When You Want to Burn It All Down.  Friends, Sophie is truly such a joy to talk to and I am always so encouraged by her heart and honesty. In this episode, we talk about everything from our life-changing safari in Kenya to navigating trauma in the midst of the world’s unusual circumstances. Sophie also dives into finding encouragement in a world where you feel like you want to burn it all down. As the Enneagram 9 that she is, Sophie is a natural peacemaker. Like most of us, conflict feels very disruptive to her, and yet it has become our norm. She talks about the hope of knowing that Jesus operates in the middle of conflict and fear and reminds us that “When He is with us in the boat, He will get us to the other side.” When all we want to do is scream at the waves, Jesus has always been the calm that we need. I hope this conversation reminds you of the truth that Jesus is and always will be steady and sure.
