S4 E1: The Ultimate Guide to the Autumn Equinox

The Empowered Modern Witches Show - A podcast by Tenae Stewart - Mondays

In this episode, we are talking all about the meaning of the autumn equinox, also known as Mabon, named for a Welsh god! The autumn equinox is one of the two days of the year when day and night are equal and balanced. In the northern hemisphere, the autumnal equinox occurs in September, when the sun enters Libra. The autumn equinox is the second harvest festival in the Wheel of the Year. It also occurs within a few weeks of the new moon in Libra and the full moon in Aries, (often the harvest moon), activating this axis of self and other, the balance of relying on and loving ourselves versus giving love to those around us. At the opposite end of the year, the spring equinox occurs during Aries season. In the southern hemisphere, these are reversed, but the equinoxes always activate this Aries-Libra axis. Listen to learn all about the history, themes and symbolism, and astrology of this festival and autumn equinox celebration ideas to try at home. I’m also talking about gratitude practices, which are a great way to celebrate autumn, to honor the passage of time, and to have an equal energy exchange with the universe in order to manifest all your desires.
