Show Notes: edmprod.com/146 This week, Clément Leroux sat down to chat on the EDM Prodcast. Clément Leroux is a talented producer and musician currently based in Belgium. He’s released on labels like Universal Music and Armada, and he’s released official remixes for artists including Armin Van Buuren and Cat Dealers. We start off with Clément Leroux’s background, focusing on the lengthy journey to find his current sound. This process included a successful previous artist project that he dropped because he wasn’t in love with the sound, as well as attending an audio engineering program in London. Clément discusses what he learned from these experiences, offering his best advice on how to find a sound that's both unique and true to yourself. On the production side, Clément breaks down several aspects of his writing and production workflow. He discusses how he starts tracks, and how he knows whether or not an idea is worth finishing. He also offers advice on making piano VSTs sound less digital, how to approach writing vocal toplines, and how to make your drums more realistic with DIY home recordings. Later on, Clément discusses how he’s been dealing with writer’s block during the pandemic, and how he’s been getting creative on social media with live performance covers. He also discusses his upcoming album, as well as the creation of his new live show.
