So, what did you fill in there? What is it that you most want for yourself and for your life right now? What is that crazy idea that you can't really believe is possible, but that you are willing to say, gosh, wouldn't it be cool if _______? Today, here in the United States it is Election Day. It is a day where our voices are tallied by votes. And it matters, every vote matters, yet only about 57% of eligible Americans vote. It makes me wonder what happened to the other 43%. Why did they decide that their voice doesn't matter? Why did they resign themselves to letting other people decide the path of their nation? Why did they not show up? I want you to know that you can be different. You can become someone who always shows up. Even if you haven't shown up or spoken up consistently in your past, there is no better time to start than now. Show up. Speak up. You matter. The space you take up matters. The voice you have and things you think matter. Don't take this as a political email. It is not in the slightest. But, on a day where voices are collectively gathered across the country, I can't help but think about what would happen if, instead of just speaking up on one day, if we spoke up for what we believe and who we are and what we want every day? I know that you might be afraid to give your voice flight. There are a lot of reasons why - perhaps you were bullied, maybe your parents belittled your ideas, maybe your co-workers laughed at your last proposal, maybe you have failed at your weightloss goals so many times that you don't want anyone to know that you still care, or maybe you just have never considered that your voice does matter. I don't know why you are keeping your voice low, playing it small, speaking up only when it is safe, or unsure that you have anything to share in the first place, but I want you to know that the world needs you. You have a voice. You have a purpose. You have a place to make in history. But You must show up. You must speak up. You must be willing to be yourself in a world that is trying to make you someone else. It's not easy to do,
