HOW TO KEEP YOUR PROMISES TO YOURSELF PODCAST #258 In this episode of #TheConfidencePodcast we’re chatting about: * How to be someone of your word – to yourself * 7 sneaky reasons we break our promises * Identifying the #1 promise you want to keep right now As always, a quick hello to all of my Keep the Faith listeners, thanks for being a part of this extended community of contagious encouragement. SPONSORSHIP NOTE: For us, March 4th is a day of activism and advocacy, and so this March, I am highlighting the need for clean and safe personal care products. If you are someone that uses any sort of personal care product (shampoo, deodorant, lotion, toothpaste, etc.) I am working for a company that is FIGHTING FOR YOU and the products you use everyday. You see, this isn’t about us selling a face lotion that will make your wrinkles smooth away, this is about us fighting FOR A SOLUTION to the fact that of the 80,000 chemicals in the marketplace 80% have never been tested for human safety. Moreover, the lack of regulation in products right now means that MANY products contain known toxins that are dramatically impacting our health in negative ways. We have the right for better – help us demand better. YOU CAN MAKE YOUR VOICE KNOWN WITH A SIMPLE TEXT MESSAGE. Text “BetterBeauty” to 52886 to ask Congress for better beauty laws. It’s that simple – one quick text and you are making a positive impact! We work because we can’t stand by idly as harmful chemicals cause our loved ones to get sick, struggle with fertility, and give birth to children with significant health issues. We work towards cleaner beauty everywhere because this is personal to all of us. He wanted to know what made it so easy for me to always follow thorugh – and it’s because I learned to keep my promises. Pinkie promises – Ellie is learning this – I loved this concept growing up and I was that kid obsessed about keeping a promise. HOW TO KEEP PROMISES TO YOURSELF BE SPECIFIC. TRACK SOMETHING DAILY (Consistency Tracker) EXPECT RESISTENCE / TEMPTATION Plan ahead WHAT WORKED FOR ME: I made promises to myself that I broke for years – because I didn’t value myself. I also didn’t trust myself once I broke enough promises. So, to change, not only did I change how I thought about myself (but that took time) … but I needed an immediate help to assist and propel the change, so I got others involved who would help me keep my promises. And it needs to be for you, not because others told you you should care. Now, strip that goal back and answer,
