Being alone can be hard. Sometimes we choose to be alone. Sometimes it's not by our choice. Sometimes we feel alone even when we are surrounded by others or are in a relationship.  I want you to know that being alone isn't always bad. In fact, I attribute the joy I feel and the confidence I have in who I am today to the years that I spent in singleness feeling like no one would ever understand me or get me.  There is a gift that comes from being single or being alone - it's not a easy gift to unwrap, but I promise, there is beauty in the season if you open your eyes to it.   Whether or not you are single, or if you just feel alone and misunderstood, I want you to take a moment right now to say "thank you" to your season.  As Mandy Hale, author of The Single Woman: Life, Love and a Dash of Sass, says, “Being brave enough to be alone frees you up to invite people into your life because you want them and not because you need them.”  There are some beautiful things that come from being by yourself and, thanks to some listener requests from you all (thank you, awesome #BeMoreMovement), I put together an entire podcast episode on how to thrive in your season of singleness. If you are ready to see the strength that comes from seasons of solitude, then pop some earphones in and listen to this week's episode, episode #248 of #TheConfidencePodcast in iTunes or at www.trishblackwell.com/248  7 REASONS SEASONS OF SINGLENESS ARE IMPORTANT * Being single gives you time to get to know yourself. * Being single opens your eyes to what you want in life. * Being single empowers you to be confident in who you are – preparing you to be healthy and ready for the right person. * Being single teaches you patience and faith. * Being single forces you to stay in the present and to plan out your own future. * Being single challenges you to never compromise. * Being single prepares you to be more every day – and to expect nothing less but the best from your future partner as well. LISTENER OF THE EPISODE: Dear Trish, I'm a 22-year-old college student, and I started listening to Confidence on the Go a few months ago. I can't tell you what a difference it has made in my confidence, my motivation, and my happiness. Your podcast helped me gain back a foundational sense of joy after a toxic relationship sent me into a terrible depression.  I'm still working on building my confidence, and I have a long way to go, but thank you so much for helping me to believe that I can build the life...
