My Way or God's Way

"I can do it myself" is something a child says as they begin their quest for independence. And while it is good to learn to do things on our own, we tend to make this the goal of life and do things our own way, not wanting to listen to anyone else's way, including God. But our passages today warn of the dire consequences of such a choice and also provide true hope by describing how living God's way leads to great joy and life!
