Justice & Mercy

God cares about justice as well as mercy. We tend to struggle to keep these two things in proper balance; failing to do justice or show mercy as we should. But God in these passages is showing both his desire for justice to be done, as well as calling for mercy in a way that reflects his own acts of justice and mercy seen most clearly in Jesus.
