Judgment & Mercy

The readings from Genesis depict God's judgment on evil and injustice, and the consequences of sin in our lives. And yet we also see God's mercy. Psalm 1 presents us with the choice of focusing our lives on God or ourselves, calling us to see the benefits of a life focused on God. And Mark 7 concludes with Jesus calling religious leaders out for their hypocrisy, while showing mercy to the weak and outcasts of society.
