Deception & Deliverer

Today's reading in Genesis exposes a lot of deception in the life of Jacob, both by him and to him. And while it may be tempting to look down on these people, it would be more honest to admit we too can struggle with speaking lies and deceiving people. In contrast, Mark 11 describes Jesus as someone who speaks the truth, and while unsettlingly as that can be, he speaks the truth in love, which we desperately need.
