Your Social Media Could Be Helping People Stalk You - Here's How To Turn It Off

Are you being tracked by your social media? What other people can find out about you is straight up SCARY. Take Snapchat, for instance. Do you know about Snap Map? If you don't have your settings in a particular way, people you're friends with can see exactly where you are...down to the parking spot or worse, your HOUSE. Great when you're bar hopping with friends (and safe, too, so they can see you get home safely), but not great when someone is stalking you. You can either turn on "ghost mode" so only you can see it, or turn it off in the settings on your phone. Another thing to be hyper aware of is invisible location data in your photos. When you share out your pics (think text, Twitter, etc.), sometimes location data - aka EXACT coordinates using longitude and latitude - are attached to data that seems invisible to normal users...unless you know how to look for it. So that pic of your dog or your family you sent out...you could be telling people exactly where you are. Find out more info on that and how to remove it. Stay safe out there!
