A listener came to us with a BIG dilemma. She's been dating a guy for two years, and he was just recently diagnosed with a form of rare cancer. Unfortunately, his life expectancy is only 3-5 years. They currently live in separate states, and the idea of her moving to him is on the table. However, she's worried that in the event of his death he will leave his children to her. She's not close with them, and in fact, doesn't like them at all as they exhibit poor behavior. Should she risk stepping into a stepmother role? Or should she back out of the relationship altogether?
