Our new intern, Bella, ended a ten year friendship during spring break. When they both entered college, Bella said she was having a difficult time adjusting, while her best friend was immediately thriving. The friendship’s dynamic really started changing when Bella started to feel like she was having to be more of a therapist than a friend. During spring break vacation, Bella had a slight emotional breakdown over a scary situation, and her friend completely invalidated her feelings. After that, the friend told Bella that spring break was ruined because of her, and Bella revealed how she’d really been feeling about their friendship.
