Which path will you take?

God Is Within Her - a women’s devotional podcast - A podcast by Valarie Reynolds

Life is hard. Life is demanding. Life can let us down. People can let us down. Life can have sucky moments. - So this takes me to the book of Ruth. The beginning of Ruth starts off with life being hard. There are two sister-in-laws who just became widows, Ruth and Orpah. They faced a choice after their husbands died: go back to their old culture and what they knew, or do down this new path of faith and uncertainty? They Moabite women. Their culture worshiped false gods. But the second choice was following their mother-in-law Noami back to Bethlehem, where they believed in God, Yahweh. Which path have you been choosing lately? Have you been Orpah: you’re a good woman, you’re kind, you love, you try your best, but you like your comfort zone? Maybe when things are dark and twisty, you pray to Him. But when things are good, He doesn’t hear much from you.  Or have you been Ruth? Or you’re being called to be more like Ruth? You are feeling that pull of God, that conviction that more is required of you.In your life, you will always have 2 choices. God granted us free will. We always get to choose. My hope is that some light has been shown on decisions in your life where you picked comfort over faith. You’ve been acting a little too much like Orpah and not enough like Ruth.If you have, it's ok, sister. It's never too late to start walking more like Ruth._______________________________________________________Have you been wanting to grow a closer relationship with God but just don’t know where to start?
