Is manifesting ok for a Christian to do??

God Is Within Her - a women’s devotional podcast - A podcast by Valarie Reynolds

Hey friends! I am going to tackle a little bit on a controversial topic. I haven’t been able to let go of this topic all week in my head. And, based on the response this got on Tiktok, I have a feeling it is one of those topics that doesn’t get talked about a whole lot, but it needs to be! So venturing a little bit outside of that comfort zone and those safer topics and we are just going to go for it! Now, if you have no idea what I am talking about… “what is manifesting”? Then don’t worry about me. You keep on keeping on praying, loving, and obeying God. But you may have noticed, as social media grows, more and more influencers use their platforms to promote this law of attraction, manifest your dreams, spirituality, the universe will bring you what you want. It is all very new age and, on the surface, it can seem very innocent. What is wrong with a little positive thinking to better yourself? What is wrong with wanting more and attracting it from a positive thinking place? My manifesting is prayer. I know God is my Creator and God knows my heart. I say all of these things because, at one point, I believed all of this too. I would justify my manifesting as well. No, I didn’t practice witchcraft or sorcery or any of the darkness we associate with evil. I know little to none about that stuff. What I was doing felt innocent. Law of attraction made sense to me. If I thought about it, it would come true. God knows my heart. God is going to bring me my next customer. I was blending the law of attraction, new age, manifesting, whatever you want to call it, with my faith. And that blending made me think it was ok to do. But, as you slowly uncover God’s truths found in the Bible, you begin to realize that it isn't in alignment with God’s word at all. And I have narrowed it down to 2 basic, fundamental Biblical truths (I’m sure there is more) that made me personally realize that new age practices were not needed in my life as a believer. And I am hoping that, if you have dabbled into this or are currently dabbling in it, you have clarity in the end as to why you don’t need manifestation either. ------------------------Have you been wanting to grow that more intimate relationship with God or spend more time in the word but just don’t know where to start?
