How do I love thy neighbor as myself?

God Is Within Her - a women’s devotional podcast - A podcast by Valarie Reynolds

Last week, the word “love” was bothering me. That sounds funny to say, how can “love” bother you? But it was bothering me because I had unanswered questions. If we are supposed to love thy neighbor, how does that apply to them vs. their sin? Our phrase “love is love” bothered me and I couldn’t put my finger on why.  How can I love yet correct sin? Is that even possible? Does love thy neighbor mean I don’t correct? That doesn’t seem right since God hates sin. But how does love and correction work together? Surely they had to, I just didn’t know how.So with all of these tabs open in my the computer screen of my chaotic mind, I spent some of my quiet time last week really studying “love”. What does God say about love? Digging deeper into love thy neighbor. Studying 1 Corinthians 13, aka the “love chapter”. And you are getting the product of all of my studying and revelation with this episode! What does this look like, to love my neighbor as myself?  To answer that, we first have to understand God’s definition of love because we cannot lean on our own understanding, you know! So just like I say, if you want a closer relationship with Jesus, you need to get to know Him. The more you get to know Jesus, the more you will understand agape love and the more you will be able to show it to others around you, like we are supposed to. ------------------------Have you been wanting to grow that more intimate relationship with God or spend more time in the word but just don’t know where to start?
