Have a testimony, not an excuse

God Is Within Her - a women’s devotional podcast - A podcast by Valarie Reynolds

Do you have something in your life right now, maybe a dream, and aspiration, maybe a prayer or a request, that just seems impossible? You don’t see how you can do it on your own? You don’t see how it’s even possible? You don’t feel capable enough to handle it? You don’t feel like you’re made to achieve this dream you have? All the doubt, worry, skepticism is flooding your mind and you can’t see past it. You’re staring at a Goliath and it’s too scary and big to conquer. I thought of the story of David and Goliath. Goliath was coming out of this tent daily and taunting the Israelites, making them scared and fearful. They didn’t think they were strong enough to defeat Goliath or the Philistines. They felt too small, too weak. The task as hand felt unconquerable. Kind of like how you might feel right now?David was told by many people, including King Saul, "You're JUST a boy." Do you have a Saul voice in your head telling you "you're just a mom" or "you're just a woman"? So many times we allow our inner Saul voice to win. We listen to the fears, we listen to our doubts, we listen to the doubts and concerns of others, and we allow our excuses to control our outcomes. Have you been allowing your excuses to win? Have you been allowing your excuses to hold you down, keep you from growing? Have you been obeying your fears instead of being obedient to God? Do you have an excuse? Or do you want a testimony? How do you want your story to pan out?I don’t want excuses anymore. I want a testimony. _______________________________________________________Have you been wanting to grow a closer relationship with God but just don’t know where to start? I can help!
