CHRISTIAN LIVING SERIES: Attitude of Gratitude

God Is Within Her - a women’s devotional podcast - A podcast by Valarie Reynolds

Hey friends! I hope you guys are staying warm! This episode is from my own personal lessons from this past week. If you haven't heard, major parts of Texas lost power for days while in the middle of a winter snow storm. For most of last year, my home did not have power. We basically lived in a tiny hotel room for four days. All of our food in our fridge went bad. School was cancelled all week. It was the perfect storm for some mommy stress, anxiety, and overwhelm. I struggled mentally this past week. I would wave through emotions of anger, frustation, then I would run down that road of hypothetical scenarios of "what ifs" that only feed my anxiety even more. I struggled with finding peace and calm. And most people would say, rightfully so! It's ok to be anxious in those moments! But if that is so, then why was Phil. 4:6 ringing inside my head over and over "Do not be anxious about anything..." Like thanks God, easier said than done. But He wouldn't let me let it go. How in the world am I supposed to NOT be anxious about this whole situation? I have every right to be angry and stressed right now! ... Oh but just because I had the "right" to be, didn't mean I HAD to be...So this episode if from my heart. No script. No notes. Just an account of my past week and how God rocked my faith with some serious truth bombs. ------------------------------------Have you been wanting to grow that more intimate relationship with God or spend more time in the word but just don’t know where to start?
