#13 - The Rise Of Very Well-Marketed Fraud with Emily Schumann

The Barbra May Show - A podcast by Barbra May

In this episode, I am joined by Emily Schuman – a former university professor who balances art and teaching and creates courses on past lives, love, and life experiences.  In the show we discuss a few things, closest to my heart is the issue of fraud amongst spiritual leaders. Well-marketed fraud; practitioners who use their profile to sell a course or a lesson for large amounts of money but don’t deliver anything. To Emily and I this is a major problem and a disgusting thing – it’s stealing and it’s ugly. We talk about how you can avoid getting scammed and find teachers who are genuine. Emily is one of the most genuine teachers I know and it was great to hear how she taught her courses. She’s an artist too, and we talked about the difference between a soul portrait and an aura portrait.  As Emily told me, spirit art is done in a couple of different ways. As Emily says:  ‘people will take acrylic paint and they'll put it in a cup and then they'll dump it out. And then they'll squish it. And, and then they open it up. And the painting that is there is what you know, came through. the thing that all of the types have in common is that you take paint and you surrender to the process. So you put it down and you let it process itself and then you interpret it. Um, so other spirit art people will do is they'll take wax, um, in caustics and they'll put them on a heating board and then they'll just like dip the paper into the thing. And then again, interpret the image that comes out of it.’ Emily does hers differently though, and you’ll hear her methods for astral projecting and painting and spirit and aura portraits.  We touched on the brain as well, and how the left and right hemispheres have control of different things – certain functions occur on one side compared to the other. We have creative sides and analytical sides. And you have to have a balance - everything has to be in harmony in order to work. Otherwise, it's not going to work. This was a wonderful episode to make so I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed creating it.   https://www.barbramay.com/episode13
