GUEST HOST: Mark Cerulli Dempsey flies away in the helicopter. Hall and Stone head toward the sound of crying. A dead man lays in front of the house. Stone looks through the screen door. There’s a long hallway, with a crib at the far end. Hall and Stone enter the house and walk down the hallway toward the crib. The crying baby is abut four months old. Hall picks the baby up from the crib. “This must be the mother,” says Stone, looking in another room. “Scared,” says Hall, looking at the baby. “and hungry as hell. Can’t be more than six months old. There’s probably some formula in the kitchen-“ “Don’t feed it,” replies Stone. “He hasn’t eaten in at least twelve hours!” says Hall. “We don’t do anything until we get that kid out of here and into a controlled situation!” says Stone. “Maybe feeding is part of the disease process. Maybe those who hadn’t eaten yet lasted longest. Whatever it is, with our oxygen running out, we can’t take a chance. “ Stone pauses. “Oh, wait a minute,” he says, grabbing a baby basket. “This is a major break — a survivor. Too bad he can’t tell us what happened.” “Maybe he can,” replies Hall. “If he lives.” The baby continues to cry.
