However, looking at their demographic data prior to that initial meeting can help you get a clearer picture of their particular circumstances. From their socioeconomic status to their English language proficiency, you can use this data before the school year starts to start planning culturally responsive lessons. Here are the particular data points I look at and how I use that information to guide my teaching.
