Our first ever Tiny Talk! woohoo! Tiny Talks will feature sporadic yarns outside our typical weekly interview-styled episodes. For this TT, join me as I catch up with an old friend & prior guest James Warrender (episode #7) and two fellow artists Jas Sabrine + Jason Wray. Today's guests are: Jas Sabrine: Based in Te Whanganui-a-Tara Jasmine is a multidisciplinary Filipinx Artist whose practice is photography, Painting and design! As an Artist Jasmine takes inspiration from their own culture and aims to revolve her work around Fllipino folklore mythology and interprets it in their own way to create her work!Jason Wray: Based in Wellington Jason is a multi-disciplinary designer, who’s artistic practice is Furniture design, Graphic Design and Clothing Design taking inspiration from forms in nature and his love of HipHop. He’s a co-founder of Windy Workshops which is a creative hub based in Wellington, with like minded people who practise their own craft. Jasons goals are to support the local community by supporting any creatives with their endeavours and to improve the creative hub here in Wellington.James Warrender: The Creative Director of New life Studios and a young emerging artist based here in Wellington, New Zealand. Working out of Sector 22, a collective of young creatives who contribute to the local creative scene in Wellington, by helping others network and hosting local events for the community to be apart of. A abstract expressionism painter and creative director/ designer. Inspired by certain artist such as Basquiat, William De Kooning and Picasso James draws inspiration from their work, to interrupt it through his own perspective, while also focusing on his own life experiences which influence what he paints, translating his emotions from words to vibrant paintings.
