Ambassador, advocate, athlete – Jaden Movold is a T54 Internationally Classified wheelchair racer and this year Paralympics NZ selected Jaden into the para-sport collective. Holding numerous NZ age-group records and several national championship titles, he is an athlete to his core!I'm so grateful for Jaden's authenticity, as he openly discusses the impact of Tall Poppy Syndrome and why it motivates him to loudly praise others! Born with a rare form of Spina Bifida he has faced many physical challenges including 32 major surgeries. Jaden shares what being a change-maker means to him, and his role models.During this chat we dive into his work with Massey University where he provides research assistance for studies tackling ‘ableism’ in society. Jaden has such a fasciniating insight through his work advising the Ministry of Social Development & Auckland Transport, & as a member of the I.Lead National Committee. The most notable qualities of Jaden’s character are found not in his competitive spirit but in his generous heart. He is heavily involved with the community, regionally & nationally, he serves on many committees and advisory groups. He’s a disability advocate, public speaker, and ambassador. As if he wasn’t busy enough, Jaden is pursuing a psychology degree at the Auckland University of Technology.Listen to the full interview on Spotify, iHeart Radio, or Apple Podcasts.#athlete #racing #wheelchairracing #highperformance #accessibility #wheelchair #podcast #t54 #paralympics #tallpoppytalk #tallpoppysyndrome #tallpoppy #advocate #ambassador #mentalhealthmatters #aotearoa #newzealand #mentalhealthawareness #auckland #masseyuniversity #abelism
