Here Saint Teresa explains to us the  differences between the First Mansions and the Second Mansions. Souls  that enter the Second Mansions are no longer deaf-and-dumb. We begin to  hear God as we develop our prayer life. In the Second Mansions we  encounter harsh trials to correct the soul in its sanctification.
