53. Peta Mawby - Artist Interview

In today’s conversation I’m talking with Peta Mawby who is a botanical painter working out of her studio in the renowned artist town of Castlemaine here in Australia. Peta came to one of my workshops last year and since then has really hit her stride, selling out collections of her hyper realistic painting collections. Some of the things I discover in this conversation are; How setting structure within her practice pushes her towards excellence. Why she uses a mailing list as her primary sales method The Planning process behind her collections. How releasing work for sale in real time gives her energy for the next piece. How finding beauty in a harsh Australian climate helped her paint her way back to falling in love with the landscape and indigenous history of the land.
