SSW006: Who Will Die in Star Wars VII?

In both existing Star Wars trilogies, important characters are killed off. These deaths have a major impact on the lead character(s).
In Star Wars IV, Luke’s uncle Owen and his aunt Beru are brutally murdered. And towards the end of the movie, Obi-Wan Kenobi is killed by Darth Vader. Yoda dies in Episode VI.
In the Prequel Trilogy, Anakin suffers a similar loss: first Qui-Gon Jinn is killed by Darth Maul, and in episode II, Anakin loses his mother. It traumatizes him, and these deaths make him vulnerable to the Dark Side.
The question is: will J.J. Abrams follow this theme in the new Star Wars trilogy? After all, the movies will be about Star WARS. No wars without casualties. Abrams didn’t hesitate to destroy an entire planet in his first Star Trek movie: the planet Vulcan suffered a fate similar to that of Alderaan in Star Wars Episode IV. So who will die in Episode VII?
We discuss the question in this new episode of Secrets of Star Wars, and we speculate about other plot elements on the basis of new Star Wars rumors. One character will be back for sure: R2-D2 (Abrams confirmed it). But what about C-3PO? Listen to the show to find out more!
